Business Restructuring Melbourne
HOW WE CAN HELP
Our business recovery and turnaround management services emphasise business renewal and positive change.
We work with organisations of all sizes – from sole traders and private companies to ASX-listed corporations and government entities – to help them take stock, reassess, plan and rebuild.
We liaise with boards of directors, financiers, accountants, lawyers, ASIC, shareholders, financial advisors, private equity firms and hedge funds to help our clients through financial difficulties.
Our aim is to recover a business’s viability and reduce the severity of the financial fallout.
Depending on the specific circumstances, we can achieve this through a formal voluntary administration appointment or through informal turnaround management services.
BRI Ferrier also specialises in business insolvency, personal insolvency and forensic accounting, small business restructuring and safe harbour provisions, providing expert solutions for financial challenges.
Voluntary administration
BRI Ferrier has extensive experience in formal voluntary administration appointments across many industries. Voluntary administration offers breathing space to insolvent or financially distressed organisations, so they can reorganise their financial affairs and potentially avoid liquidation.
A recent example of our expertise in this area is our appointment as voluntary administrator of Parque Pty Ltd, an iconic Melbourne fashion retailer trading as FAT Stores. The administration enabled us to successfully restructure and downsize the business, and to return it to its owners in a viable state while preserving the value in the brand and the owners’ equity.
Informal turnaround management services
BRI Ferrier advises financially distressed businesses to help them avoid terminal insolvency. We also assist non-distressed businesses to implement change management strategies and ensure their continuing financial health.
We achieve this through:
- Business review and advisory services. These include complete independent reviews of operations and comprehensive health checks to determine market position, critical issues and opportunities for continuity and growth. We also provide specific reviews for business owners, financiers and other stakeholders to assist strategic decision-making. Find out more about BRI Ferrier’s business review and advisory services
- Acquisition and sale due diligence. Assurance to individuals and companies that are buying or selling businesses. They can then assess whether the potential benefits of the deal outweigh the risks. Find out more about BRI Ferrier’s acquisition and sale due diligence services
- Informal arrangements. As an alternative to administration or liquidation for financially distressed businesses, these may include a repayment agreement or limited moratorium between the distressed business and its creditors. Find out more about BRI Ferrier’s informal arrangement services
